Warwick Tower a folly in America
The author of "Architectural Follies in America", KY's Clay Lancaster was charmed by the idea of creating them.
His three-story octagonal Warwick Tower contains an elliptical parlor-dining room, a kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, & a storage area for his research files. Warwick Tower is modeled on the Tower of the Winds, an octagonal tower, probably 1st century, on the agora in Athens.
Clay Lancaster (March 30, 1917 - December 25, 2000) was an authority on American architecture, an Orientalist and an influential advocate of historical preservation
