Pancratiuschurch in Emmen
Print of the Grote or Pancratiuskerk in Emmen in 1855
1 year for the construction of the current church. Only the Romanesque tower still stands today and dates back to the 12th / 13th century.
In 1228 the whole of Emmen, a municipality in Drenthe, probably including the church, was destroyed as a retaliatory measure against the Drenten for the battle of Ane. The church was probably replaced after that.
In 1456 a new church was built against the existing tower.
